Tonight we went out with some friends of ours, Aj and Melissa. Aj is Brett's best friend from high school and after he married Melissa she became my friend. We always have a good time with them, and tonight both of us escaped from our kids and got to enjoy good food and talking. They have kids (Austin and Emily...and she's pregnant with another girl right now..yay!) close in age as our kids, it works out great.
We tried out a new Mexican restaurant and it was yummy. After we had dinner we just sat, talked and laughed with them for 2 hours straight. I tried to get some pictures but Aj didn't want his picture taken so I didn't get any.(bummer)
After that we went back to Grandpa and Grandma's(Brett's parents) to pick up the kids. It was almost 11pm when we got back and the kids were still UP! Yes, my kids are the type that NEVER go to sleep unless they are in their own beds. If we aren't home and have to stay in a hotel they do go to sleep but Brett and I have to be with them in order to do that. Grandpa and Grandma always ask Brandt if he wants to stay the night and he replies nicely "No, I want my own bed at home."(lol) Oh the joys of being a parent. I have accepted that though, and at least I can say I am happy that they love their own beds and love to be with us, how can I not be happy about that?
Brandt had a blast doing puzzles and books with Grandma. Grandpa said, " Alivia can hold her own", when I asked him what he meant he said that she would go and take something from Brandt and then run away from him and when Brandt would try to get it back she would put up a BIG fight! I will have to say that I agree with Grandpa, she really is one tough cookie!
All in all we had a great night out and so did the kids:) Hope you all had a great Saturday night!
